Text Message Scam Alert - September 20, 2024

We've received reports of fraudulent SMS messages pretending to be from Marquette Savings Bank. These messages often ask you to click a link or call a number to provide more information or verify account details. These are NOT legitimate! If you receive a text from msb@security.com regarding a Walmart transaction, please delete the message. DO NOT CLICK the link or reply to the message.

Here’s what to watch out for:

    1. Suspicious Links - The message may contain a shortened or unusual URL, urging you to click for more information or to "secure your account."
    2. Phone Numbers - The scam may direct you to call a number that seems legitimate but is actually part of the scam.
    3. Urgency- Fraudulent messages often create a false sense of urgency, saying your account is at risk.

What to do:

    • DO NOT click any links or call any unfamiliar numbers in these messages.
    • Contact Marquette directly through official channels if you have any doubts.
    • Report suspicious messages.

Stay safe, and remember, Marquette will never ask for personal information via SMS. You can find more information on how to detect scams and protect your self by visiting our Fraud Protection Center here.
